Since October 7, 2023, the most brutal genocidal war of the twenty-first century has been systematically executed through a comprehensive strategy designed to create conditions of death, forced displacement, permanent injuries, and chronic illnesses, ultimately aiming to erase the Palestinian presence in Gaza. In response, the Stars of Hope Society (SHS) and Al Marsad have released a seventh position paper highlighting the scale of the genocide against persons with disabilities.
Airdropped humanitarian aid is insufficient, disproportionately affecting persons with disabilities who face greater challenges in accessing it due to the destruction of accessibility infrastructure and the loss of assistive devices. The high risk of retrieving aid further endangers their lives. Additionally, humanitarian aid distribution policies in shelters have contributed to the marginalization and exclusion of persons with disabilities, exacerbating their hunger crisis.
