Sandyan Project

The Sandyan Project aims to strengthen community mechanisms for providing comprehensive and multi-faceted protection services against gender-based violence in Areas C and H2 of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Stars of Hope Society for empower women with disabilities, Terre des Hommes (TDH) - Switzerland, and the YMCA Jerusalem, implemented in multiple phases.

Phase 1: Sandyan Project 1

The first phase of the Sandyan Project, known as Sandyan Project 1, focuses on delivering mental health services tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities, while contributing to the prevention of gender-based violence. It provides comprehensive and multi-sectoral protection services against gender-based violence, safeguarding the rights of both individuals with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. The project works to prevent or reduce gender-based violence through integrated mental health services that are continuously monitored to ensure their quality, particularly in risk and humanitarian emergency situations.

Phase 2: Sandyan Project 2

Building on the foundations established by Sandyan Project 1, the second phase, Sandyan Project 2, focuses on enhancing the resilience and well-being of children and families affected by community violence in the West Bank. This phase continues to prioritize the protection of the rights of individuals with disabilities and those without, offering mental health services tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities, including women with disabilities. Both the Stars of Hope Society for empower women with disabilities , Terre des Hommes (TDH) - Switzerland, and the YMCA Jerusalem remain committed to reducing gender-based violence and promoting gender equality through this phase of the project.
