In Palestine, persons with disabilities continue to face systemic barriers that limit their right to equal participation in economic and social life. Although the Palestinian Basic Law guarantees equality before the law without discrimination on the basis of disability, the reality remains very different. People with disabilities are more likely to live in poverty, have limited or no access to social protection, and when they enter the labor market, they often experience discrimination in hiring, training, wages, and promotion. Women with disabilities in particular face double layers of exclusion. Through this project, Stars of Hope Society (SHS) is taking concrete steps to change this reality. The project seeks to dismantle structural and institutional barriers, empower persons with disabilities, especially women, to strengthen their employability and leadership, and promote inclusive policies and practices within the labor market. By combining direct empowerment with systemic change, the project paves the way for persons with disabilities to access decent work opportunities and contribute fully to Palestine’s economic development as equal citizens.
