As part of this Project, the Stars of Hope Society, in partnership with the Palestinian Institution for Empowerment and Local Development – REFORM, is carrying out various activities aimed at enhancing the roles of young women and men in reducing community violence and improving access to social justice in the targeted areas. The Project focuses on using early alert systems to mitigate community violence and discriminatory attitudes, particularly those arising from gender-based violence.
To achieve this goal, the Stars of Hope Society and its project partners are engaging youth as social mediators responsible for early responses to gender-based violence and promoting gender equality. Strategies include capacity building and increasing women’s participation in addressing community violence and decision-making processes, with a special emphasis on including women with disabilities. Their involvement is essential in reducing both gender-based and disability-related violence, known as "compound violence."
