The Stars of Hope Society is implementing the "Hemaya Project" in all its phases in partnership with Al Marsad – the Social and Economic Policies Monitor. The activities within this project are informed by the findings of recent studies conducted by the Society’s Research Department.
The first phase of the Hemaya Project is distinguished by its comprehensive approach. Both partners work to raise awareness among women and girls with disabilities, their families, and disability-related organizations on how to advocate for their rights and protection from gender-based and disability-related violence. The project includes specific activities targeting particular groups. For example, the Stars of Hope Society draws on its extensive experience in advocacy to collaborate with disability organizations to improve the legal and policy framework governing disability rights and advocate for amendments that align with the goal of ending violence against women and girls with disabilities. Concurrently, the project focuses on increasing awareness among women and girls with disabilities and their families about the violence they face, providing information on available services and how to access them.
